About the Widows Sons
The
Widows Sons Masonic Motorcycle Association Missouri Grand Chapter and
it's chartered chapters are an affiliate of the Widows
Sons Masonic Motorcycle Riders Assoc., Int'l.
We
are a non-brand specific riding association, no matter what motorcycle you ride (minimum
500cc*), you are welcome as a member. We
have three levels of membership. Active, for those who are members
in good standing of a Blue Lodge (F&AM/AF&AM )and ride a
motorcycle, Masonic associate membership open to Masons
(F&AM/AF&AM) who do not ride but wish to participate in our
activities and associate membership open to anyone. All membership is
subject to a vote of our active members.
Our
Masonic members are an internationally based group of independent Masons
who have joined together to simply share the thrill of riding with other
members of our fraternity. We do not intend to speak for or
represent any particular Masonic body. We simply want to share our
passion for riding with all other Masons who ride, and have some fun.
We are not a 1% club. We are a social riding association, which
happens to have set one of its membership requirements to include being
a Master Mason in good standing. Our name comes from certain aspects of
the Masonic fraternity, it is not intended to instill fear or appear
threatening in any way. We are not territorial and do not condone
illegal activities by our members. All we ask is that our members act in
a way that will reflect well on us, our Fraternity and
motorcycling in general.
We have an association patch worn by our active members in the United
States comprised various Masonic symbology, the words Widows Sons, state
of affiliation, and the name of our local Chapter. We also wear a Square
& Compass patch (as we are entitled to do as Masons) to denote our
personal fraternal affiliation. This is not a part of our colors; it is
simply a common custom among members of our Fraternity to wear this
symbol. Other states chapter members may wear a slightly different patch
depending on their local customs, but all use the words 'Widows Sons'
and proudly display the Square & Compass.
We strive to be friends and on good terms with all other clubs,
associations and riders we share the road with.
We realize that wearing "colors" is a serious matter and wear
them appropriately. We understand there are clubs that have been around
for many years and we respect that. We realize we are able
to enjoy many of our riding freedoms thanks to the many clubs,
associations and riders that have gone this way before us.
Our patches allow other riders to know who we are and where we are
from. We wear the name of our Chapter simply to identify where we are
from not to claim any territory. We ask all our members to wear
their patch proudly and to always show respect for all other clubs,
associations and riders. We do not take sides or involve ourselves when
it comes to other club or association politics. We do not claim
turf or territory.
Our members are also individually, members of many other motorcycling
associations. We come from all walks of life, including public servants
and veterans of the
Armed Forces.
If any prospective members or others have any questions or would like
more information about the Widows Sons we encourage them to contact
us.
